A Thought About 1John 1:5

I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Sorry I’ve been gone for like a REALLY long time WP! Two autoimmune diseases and open heart surgery can really affect a person’s plans, y’know? But during these times, you get more of a chance to listen to God, and reevaluate the paths you’re on. In my case, I think I was letting certain talents (which The Lord has gifted me with) go to waste. So, I’m back to making videos again. One of the series I’m working on are short studies of the Bible, Verse by Verse. This one focuses on 1John 1:5.

My Short Study of Psalms 119:160

“All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.”

Every Promise, Covenant, or Prediction God has ever made is true. It is true of its own merit, for God’s Word Stands Eternally. Not one ever failed; especially The Promise of A Messiah made back in The Book of Genesis and echoed by the prophets. Even though The New Covenant through The Christ supersedes The Old Covenant of The Law, The Law still stands as the evidence of our sinful nature and proof of our need for a Savior. God’s Word Stands Forever!

My Short Study of Galatians 5:24

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”

An important part of Paul’s teaching is that Christians are saved by faith alone. He had many opponents who asked,”Without the threat of punishment from God, why would anyone avoid sin?” The first part of the apostle’s answer was that anyone who trusts in Christ’s crucifixion to pay for their sins, know the devastating nature of evil acts. Being saved means giving up the right to hold on to a sinful lifestyle, indulging in it and enjoying it. When we trusted Christ to pay the penalty for our wrong doings, we put to death our desire to do wickedness. Yet, there is the fact that most of us don’t immediately and all together lose our compulsion to sin. Though ‘dead’, the inclination to commit evil acts isn’t altogether gone. Still, one of the things that change when we are saved is our understanding that sin is forever deadly. By trusting in Christ, we turn away from sin as a natural path in life. Another change is that God Gives us The Power in His Spirit to win the battle against our sinful desires. Even though we may sometimes submit to our tendency for sin, Christians are not dominated by evil desires. In accepting salvation through Christ, we affirm our intention to move away from evil, with the Help of God’s Power.

My Short Study of Ecclesiastes 3:1

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:”

God is sovereign, and anything that happens, does so by His Allowance. He has set a time for everything to come into being; the length it will continue, and in what situation. Yes, The Good Lord determines the start, duration and end of all things. All appears when it is The Will of God it should, whether it be in the world, earth, galaxy or universe. We are here because God Wanted us here. May we all use our being to His Glory.

My Short Study of Ephesians 1:7-10

“In Him we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s Grace that He lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, He made known to us the mystery of His Will according to His Good Pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment – to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.”

In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul stresses God’s Grace, Perfect timing, and unity. God’s Grace is the price Christ paid for us to become the children of God. Even though the payment was dear, God freely pours it over us in abundance. The mystery Paul wrote of was what was unknown to the Hebrew nation in the past but revealed in The Messiah, resulting in both Jews and Gentiles being redeemed by Christ’s crucifixion. It was done in God’s perfect timing as will all of God’s Plan. When the times reach their fulfillment, there will be unity of things in heaven and earth; Spiritual and physical, with Christ in Authority of all.
